Information from the package:

The Ribbon Shirt was, and still is the Classic "Indian Shirt" in cloth and is worn by Feather Dancers, Straight Dancers, Gourd Dancers and occasionally by the "Singers" or "MC" at present day PowWows and Ceremonial gatherings.

Originally it was worn by Indians east of the Mississippi who modified the basic Anglo dress shirt style somewhat by adding decorations and changing the construction slightly. Appearing sometime in the mid-19th century and spreading Northward up the Mississippi Valley and Southward and Westward with the Indian migrations into Oklahoma, it is a very popular style with many tribes and is appropriate for wear with a number of different types of outfits, including street clothes.

The pattern is printed on paper for more durability and ease of use.
